21century is the information society. The informatization of oil and gas exploration and development is an inevitable trend to the development of the petroleum and petrochemical companies. The emergence of geographic information system and its wide application in various fields create the conditions for informatization and Intellectualization of petroleum exploration and development decision-making. Making full use of the advantage of GIS in expressing space position information, the paper carreis out the GIS application research in web-based oil and gas exploration and development achievements management. Firstly, the significance of applying GIS technology to the oil industry and history and current situation of the oil industry informatization construction are reviewed, the key technologies of developing oil field exploration and development achievements comprehensive management system are analyzed. Afterwards, user demand analysis of system construction is carried out from business needs, function requirements and performance demands. On the basis of the above work, taking exploration and development database construction and network management of the CNODC project as a study case, the Web-based oil and gas exploration and development achievements organization and management scheme is proposed, Based on GIS second developing component SuperMap Objects and WebGIS developing component SuperMap IS.net published by SuperMap company, the Web-based oil and gas exploration and development achievements comprehensive management system is designed and implemented on Visual Studio2008.Considering the system application environment, the paper chooses role-base access control model as system access control realization model to realize the access control.Around graphics and document data management, the paper carries out design of the graphic database structure and study of the way to manage documents. As to the management of graphics data, through the space database engine SDK+, graphics and its associated attribute are uniformly managed on SQL database. With the document data description information table, the relations between the virtual folder and the physical storage are set up, and document data management on the relational database is realized. In addition, the system manages various oil and gas exploration and development result maps on the unified platform. Especially, the integration of common data formats in the oil filed such as CGM, SEGY, makes staff can view graphic data easily on window platform which need supports of professional platforms and professional skills before.Focusing on the drawing of oil and gas exploration and development thematic maps, the system achieves half automatic generation of the individual well histogram and well connection contrasts and cross sections. In inquiring of oil and gas exploration and development achievements, based on the block comprehensive achievement map, with relations set between document data and graphics data and the spatial locations associated, the system realizes the query of all the achievement data on the comprehensive achievement map through spatial relationships. In the web page, the system marks the positions which have information associated and displays related information lists.
