At present, our country is undertaking large-scale development and construction in order to expand domestic demand. The demand of steel used in construction increases rapidly. The traditional hoop bending machine not only automation degree, machining precision and efficiency is very low, but also production of steel products do not conform to the architectural design specification. Based on this, in order to realize the formation of the bent steel efficiently, we combined open motion controller technology and field bus technology to develop a bending machine NC system based on PC+EtherMAC. It has great practical significance for enhancing China’s overall level of steel processing industry.At first, based on the analysis of the CNC bending hoop machine at home and abroad, the function of the bending hoop machine was analyzed in detail. Bending hoop machine’s working principle was introduced from two perspectives of manual control and automatic control; machine’s technical parameter was pointed out. CNC bending hoop machine’s mechanical system was introduced in detail; based on this, machine’s processing technical was analyzed in detail. It has built the solid foundation for software design of bending hoop machine’s NC system.Secondly, the paper put forward a processing method based on the characteristics of the bending hoop graphics; the processing method needs geometry process database’s support. Through the introduction of structure and characteristics of SQLite and the comparison of a variety of embedded database, we can explain the necessity of choosing SQLite. Then we learn how to apply to Windows CE. Finally from the concept structure E-R chart design to logic structure basic table design, then to view design, we build the geometry process database based on bending hoop graphics.At last, all control functions of the bending hoop machine are implemented in the upper computer’s software which based on Windows CE operating system. This paper analyzes the four main modules:HMI module, data processing module, motion control module and data communication module according to functional demands, gives out the designing method of each module. In the Visual Studio development environment, adopting module designs and object-oriented methods, using C#and VC++language, the control software based on the characteristics of the bending hoop graphics is developed. The system can meet needs of actual projects by debugging and testing, verifying the correctness of the theory.
