According to the performance characteristics of poly lactic acid fiber (PLA)/cotton blended fabric, the optimum pretreatment technical conditions of such blended fabric with bio-enzyme was studied. The suitable disperse and reactive dyes and their mixture ratio which are appropriate to the blended fabric under the neutral aqueous solution with one bath-one step method was selscted. The dyeing methods and technology process of PLA/cotton blended textile was discussed.The two different pretreatment methods of ultrasonic and without ultrasonic with bio-enzyme on PLA/cotton blended fabric are introduced. Through testing the properties of weight-loss ratio, whiteness, breaking strength and desizing speed, it is found that the weight-loss ratio and whiteness under the ultrasonic condition are better than the conventional pretreatment, the breaking strength is slightly reduced, the desizing speed of ultrasonic pretreatment is quicker than the conventional treatment method.The effect of enzyme concentration, hydrogen peroxide solution, refining agent concentration, temperature, and holding time and pH value on pretreatment of the blended fabric was researched. The orthogonal experiment table was used to investigate the affecting order of different factors. The pretreatment technological conditions are optimized as follows:bio-enzyme concentration5g/L, hydrogen peroxide solution concentration6mL/L, holding time55min, holding temperature75℃, pH7.5, refining agent8g/L, bath ratio1:30, osmotic agent3g/L, sodium silicate5g/L.By selecting three-primary colors of different types of disperse and reactive dyes colors, the dyeing properties of PLA/cotton blended fabric with one bath-one step method in nearly neutral condition was studied. Washing color fastness and dye uptake rate are measured and disperse and reactive dyes varieties suitable for such blended fabric are chosen preliminary. The processing formulation, dyeing and soaping process flow are optimized for the blended fabric in the neutral conditions. Compared with the two bath dyeing method, the dye uptake rate and K/S value of the one bath dyeing process is a bit low, but also reaches the requirement level. Due to its shortened dyeing step, shorted dyeing time and simple technical process, the one bath-one step method enjoys the advantage of energy conservation and emission reductions which causes smaller environmental pollution and larger social and economic benefits.
