Cotton fabrics are the most popular because they have many excellent properties such as good hygroscopicity,soft handing and wearing comfort.But in the recent years the usage of cotton has been severely restricted because of the shortage of raw materials and high price.What's more,the cotton fabrics are easily plicated and mildew nonresistant.Polyester has distinctive feature in rich materials,low price,anti-wrinkle and mildew resistance.But it has the disadvantages of low hygroscopicity and poor wearability.So the development of modified polyester-super imitation cotton fiber becomes a significant project.The moisture regain of the current developed super imitation cotton fiber(3.0%)is much lower than that of cotton(8.0%).To improve the hygroscopic property of the fabric,super imitation cotton fiber is blended with other fibers.But the conventional dyeing of super imitation cotton blended fabric is a two-bath dyeing process with disperse/reactive dyes.There are many problems like the complex craftwork,large energy consumption and low production efficiency.Therefore,research on the one-bath dyeing process for super imitation cotton blended fabric has vital significance.In this work,the structures and dyeing properties of the super imitation cotton fabric and the blended fabric were investigated.The super imitation cotton blended fabric is designed by Zhejiang Shengfa Textile Printing & Dyeing Co.,Ltd.,which is made of polyester,Yilon and cotton fiber with a blending rato of 20%:50%:30%.The crystallinity of Yilon was 46.24%confirmed by X-ray diffraction,and the diffraction peak was at 17.678°?22.640° and 25.569°.After dyeing,the crystallinity was 50.22% and there was no much difference of the diffraction peak,indicating that the dyeing process had no effect on the structure of Yilon.The thermal stability of Yilon was analyzed by DSC.Both the melting point and glass transition temperature had no obvious change after dyeing,showing the excellent thermal stability of Yilon.Yilon had the highest color yield when the dyeing was performed at 120 ?.So we used120 ? as the dyeing temperature for the one-bath dyeing of the super imitation cotton blended fabric.The dyeing holding time was 40-50 min.When 1.0 g/L of eco-friendly CWP-11 was used as the carrier,the dyeing performance of disperse dyes on polyester at 120 ? could be similar as that at 130 ?.So the same temperature could be used for Yilon and polyester.The distribution of the disperse dyes on polyester fiber and Yilon was investigated.When the dye concentration was higher than 5.0%(o.w.f).,the ratio of polyester in the blended fabric could be slightly reduced to obtain better levelness.The disperse dyes used in the experiment had excellent alkali stability.The exhaustion and color yield of the dyes were not affected when the dyeing was performed under alkaline conditions.Levelling agent MOF consisting of non-ionic and anionic surfactants was used to improve the salt-tolerance of the disperse dyes.All of the three disperse dyes(Disperse Red FB,Disperse Yellow E-GL and Disperse Blue E-4R)had good exhaustion and build-up property,which were applicable to the one-bath dyeing process.The color yield of Drimaren reactive dyes was similar at 120 ? and 90 ?,indicating the outstanding resistance to high temperature which could be used in the one-bath dyeing together with disperse dyes.After washing with TCW,the color fastness of the fabric dyeing with the one-bath process was similar as that of the two-bath method.The moisture regain of the blended fabric after one-bath dyeing was 4.54%,much higher than that of T/C blend(65/35)which was 2.20%.The static voltage and half life of the dyed fabric were 734 V and 1.04 s,respectively.Which were similar to that of cotton fabric and better than T/C blend.The one-bath dyeing process decreases the consumption of water and energy,which has vital significance to energy conservation and emissions reduction.
