Hot-dip galvanizing is a widely-used technology of steel anti-corrosion.With thecontinuous progress and development of society, the demand for the performance of galvanizedsteel is increasingly high in industrial areas.For the production of high-performance alloygalvanized materials,the process of hot-dip galvanizing must be effectively monitored.Thetraditional monitoring method has low real time, low precision, high cost and high consumptionof human resource.With the rapid development of information technology,the embeddedtechnology has been gradually applied to various fields.The embedded devices have theadvantages of small size, light weight, low cost and strong real time.In order to improve the realtime and reliability of monitoring,and try to save human resource and economic cost, this paperdesigns a set of hot-dip galvanizing real-time network monitoring system based on embeddedmicroprocessor of ARM.The main contents of this paper are:(1)According to working principles of the hot dip galvanizing, comparing the performanceprice ratio of current all kinds of industrial measurement and control instruments, it selects AnDong electronic instrumentations and instruments made by Institute of Industrial Measurementand Control of Xihua University as the system’s monitoring instrumentations.(2)According to the layout and environment of the hot-dip galvanizing workshop,analysing connection mode of the instruments,and advantages and disadvantages of current busnetworks, it selects RS485bus to establish the slave computers communication network.(3)Analysing function requirements of hot-dip galvanizing real-time network monitoringsystem, it chooses Samsung S3C2440A microcontroller,ARM9core,as the main chip,designsthe host computer basic circuits,such as power supply circuit,USB communication interfacecircuit,JTAG communication interface circuit,LCD interface circuit,RS232communicationinterface circuit and RS485interface converting circuit,and so on.(4)Analysing features of hot-dip galvanizing real-time network monitoring system, itselects Windows CE embedded operating system as the host computer’s operating system,usesPlatform Builder to customize and transplant Windows CE5.0to the host computer.(5)According to the kernel structure of Windows CE,using eMbedded Visual C++,SQLCE3.0and SQL Server2008,it designs a hot-dip galvanizing real-time networkmonitoring interface by using a specific communication protocol.
