With the rapid development of domestic tourism, many scenic spots are ofoverexploitation, lack of protection, and tourism demand is over-expanding, resulting in alarge number of solid waste generation. However, waste treatment in scenic spots isgenerally referring to the technologies used in municipal solid waste treatment, which isnot suitable because of the unique geographical conditions and solid waste characteristicsin scenic spots. The mainly reason for mountain scenic spots is the extremely limitation oftransportation by terrain, which make it is difficult for waste transshipment. In addition,for scenic spots environment protection, the solid waste generated internal can not beretained, nor treated on the spot, but need to be shipped out to the final treatment facilitiesin around cities, thus the design of collection and transportation model is particularlyimportant. As the resources and environment of mountain scenic spot are fragile andsensitive, it gradually become focus problems that exploring and establishing scientificand rational collection and transportation models, optimizing the allocation of resources toimprove the waste removal efficiency, and easing the pressure of waste removal.In this paper, the elements and limitations of conventional collection andtransportation models were analyzed, and a new idea of using cableway for transportationwas proposed combined with unique geographical conditions, resources allocation andwaste characteristics of scenic spots. What more, the necessity, feasibility, instructionprinciple and demand of transportation by cableway was demonstrated. In the case, themechanized model of mountain scenic spots waste collection and transportation wasdesigned.Then, according to the characteristics of waste collection and transportation system inscenic spots, the evaluation index system was established, including economic feasibility,technical feasibility, environmental impact, management and social impact, and security andemergency mechanism. Moreover, a distinctive standard of index valuation and evaluationwas established, and the weights of index system were determined by using AHP. Finally,the evaluation model for scenic spot waste collection and transportation was obtainedthrough applying linear and weighted comprehensive evaluation on the basic of above. At last, Huangshan scenic spot was taken as an example for the empirical study. Thecomprehensive evaluation model was used for comparing the conventional collection andtransportation model and new mechanized one, and the scientific and advantage of thenew mechanized model which using cableway for transportation were verified by theefficiency level and performance evaluation obtained.
