Mineral resources are the important material for the economic and socialdevelopment and people’s life, with the mining economy develops rapidly, hasproduced disordered mine developments, serious pollution, the low utilization rate ofresources which is not the healthy development of a series of environmental problemsin mines. Remote sensing technology has been widely applied to mineral resourcesurvey, especially in mine environmental monitoring has been more widely used, butalso the formation of the corresponding working methods. The remote sensingtechnology in mine environmental monitoring work plays a more and more importantrole. While the traditional measure is based on visual interpretation in remote sensingimage, its disadvantage is the results are affected by the interpreter’ s experience andprofessional backgrounds, long cycle and low efficiency.The development of remote sensing technology, experienced from qualitativeanalysis to quantitative analysis, for visual interpretation to automatic targetrecognition in the development precess, the automatic information extraction methodof remote sensing applied to mine environment monitoring is an inevitable trend. Theapplication of remote sensing technology to mine environment automatic monitoringis a new research field, which has not formed a mature, accepted by experts, thecomplete method and application system, there are still some problems for mineenvironment to conduct a comprehensive, rapid, accurate monitoring measures, so itis an urgent need for mine environment automatic monitoring method and applicationresearch.This research take Liaoning of Huludao City, Beijing Miyun mine district as theresearch objects, try to research the method and application of mine environmentautomatic monitoring. The research prcess through image fusion, orthorectification,geometric correction, radiation matching, removal of vegetation and the shadow ofimage processing technology to eliminate the differences between imagingenvironments. And sing the pixel level direct change detection method and object level change detection within the mining area environment information, thencomparative analysis and statistics the automatic monitoring results and visualinterpretation results. The results show that, by measures of remote sensing imageinformation extraction technology, can be achieved on the mine environmentautomatic monitoring, and has the fast, short cycle, high precision, high economicbenefit and social benefit advantages.
