Vortex spinning is a new spinning technology developed from air jet spinning, they both utilize rotator high-speed airflow produced by nozzle to twist the yarn. The nozzle structure and twisting principle of vortex spinning nozzle are both different from traditional air jet spinning and the appearance of the vortex yarn is similar to the ring spinning yarn. Vortex spinning has prominent advantages such as:high-speed with short process passage, high yield, and the yarn has less hairiness, good resistance to pilling, better moisture absorption and release and so on. Now viscose fiber is the one of the most conventional raw materials of vortex spinning. Though there are a variety of explorations conducted on vortex spinning, but few involve the structure of vortex spinning nozzle. Therefore, following studies were carried out in this paper:(1) The structure of vortex spinning nozzle was designed systematically which includes four major parts:guidance body, vortex tube, cone body and leading tube. Internal structure of the vortex tube was selected by spinning experiments, three-piece of the vortex tube was determined. The designed nozzle is able to piecing-up for the new forming yarn automatically, and it also has enough space to make the airflow rotation more stable with less backflow. All of these provide a basis for the smooth yarn processing.(2) On the base of yarn quality, such as strength, uneven of strength, hairiness evenness and so on, the structure parameters of four major parts of the nozzle were selected by single factor experiments. The prefered structure parameters of leading tube:jet orifice position is1.5mm~2mm, the ratio between two ends of the internal structure is6:42, jet orifice angle is about40°~50°, jet orifice diameter is0.3mm, jet orifice number is6.(3) On the base of yarn performance, the structure parameters of guidance body, vortex tube, cone body were optimized by orthogonal experiments. The optimized structure parameters:spiral angle of guidance body is35°, guide needle length is1.5mm; jet orifice angle of vortex tube is45°, jet orifice diameter of vortex tube is0.5mm, jet orifice number of vortex tube is4; the tip conical degree of cone body is12.5°, when the fineness of the yarn is about18-20tex, the inner diameter of the front of cone body is1.3mm. Orthogonal combination experiment result was verified by the spinning experiments and the quality of viscose yarn was compared with that of enterprise products. The results show that:the quality of viscose yarn formed by this nozzle was greatly improved.
