Knitted fabrics for tights with excellent elasticity are widely used in body-shaping, sporting and medical areas, etc. By exerting pressure on the human body, tights are helpful for shaping body, improving venous thromboses and hypertrophic scar’s recovery. However, excessive pressure may lead to human fatigue and damage health. Therefore, consumers propose higher requirement according to clothing pressure comfort, functionality, safety and health, which leads to a research hotspot. Clothing pressure is one of the important factors for evaluation of compression garment comfort, function, and security. Clothing pressure is mainly caused by the elongation of the fabric. Therefore, it is very meaningful to study the relationship between the fabric elongation performance and clothing pressure for choosing fabric and structure design of compression garment. The content of this dissertation mainly included four parts as following:1. Through the research on knitted tight clothes market, the commonly used fabrics were summarized and collected. After testing the collected fabrics,26fabrics with better elongation performance (breaking elongation rate>100%) were chosen.2. The elongation performance of the26fabrics was measured in wale and in row using Instron-3365electronic fabric strength tester. Through the tensile experiment, the breaking strength, breaking elongation and breaking elongation rate of each fabric were obtained. In addition, the force at any elongation rate could be obtained. Paired samples T-test was used to analyze the results of the fabric elongation performance. The results of the paired samples T-test showed that the fabrics showed better elongation performance in row than in wale as a whole. A regression analysis was used to further analyze the relationship between elongation rate and the corresponding tensile force, and the analysis results showed that the tensile force of the fabric caused by its elongation increases with the elongation increase, and a cubic equation can describe their relationship well(r>0.99). What’s more, within the fabric’s50%elongation, a linear equation can well describe the relationship between the fabric tensile force and elongation rate(r>0.93).3. By using AMI-3037clothing pressure tester, the clothing pressure of the26fabrics at10%,20%,30%,40%and50%elongations was tested on three cylinders with different curvature radius respectively. The results were analyzed by carrying out paired samples T-test. It was found that when the radius of curvature is settled, the clothing pressure increased with the increase of fabric elongation; at the same elongation, clothing pressure decreases with the increase of cylinder.4. Correlation test was used to evaluate the relationship between the clothing pressure and tensile force caused by fabric elongation. It was found that there was a positive correlation between them. The relationship can be described by linear equation, as follows: y1=1.001x+0.281(r2=0.886)(d1=6.5cm) y2=0.964x+0.197(r2=0.855)(d2=7.8cm) y3=0.862x+0.295(r2=0.902)(d3=9.2cm) where:y:clothing pressure (kPa); x:tensile force (N)...
