Pressure vessel is the device widely used in petroleum, currently there was a widelyfoundation of vessel design by AutoCAD, but the main way is designing in two dimensional. Itis rarely to find the three-dimensional entity molding used in the outline of pressure vesseldesign. If we combine the3D modeling in AutoCAD with pressure vessel develop efficiently,the efficiency of the design will improve. During the manufacturing process of the pressurevessel, welding is one of the important factors which impact the pressure vessel manufacturing.There is a close contact between the finally welding quality and the formulation of the weldingprocess. A new design for pressure vessel welding system is much conducive to make out thereasonable welding technology for the process engineer. So it is meaningful for the design andproduction of pressure vessel perfectly.Using the VBA as the development language, we improve the design of3D parametricpressure vessel components on the base of AutoCAD in this paper. We achieve intelligentdrawing purpose by stretching, scanning, boolean operations,3D rotation and other3Dmodeling instruction during achieving the pressure vessel support type B bearing and manhole.On the base of modeling the Pressure vessel component, we combine ADO database connectiontechnology and Access to be3D component class modules, which can optimize programstructure.According to discussing the integrity of the pressure vessel design, we combine parametricdrawing with Access database technology effectively by making use of ADO databaseconnection technology, and we add3D drawing of the modular technology which can enhancethe3D assembly modeling efficiency. At the same time taking advantage of identificationconversion technology between the world coordinate system and user coordinate system, thebottleneck of the VBA development system can be break through effectively. We developvertical pressure vessel overall modeling system by using recognition conversion technology ofWCS and UCS.Developing the pressure vessel welding procedure specification system is anotherobjective in this paper." The chemical container steel structure design "as the foundation,combining with characteristics of the pressure vessel manufacturing, using SQL Server anddatabase seamless integration technology to realize database supplementation, amendment and effective screening data ability which can improve the efficiency of data management andanalysis. At the same time the user’s interface design is easy to operate, simple and practical,which will benefit at the popularity of system. Using VBA and Excel interaction techniquesrealize welding process card edit and print output function. It rich pressure vessel designenvironment effectively.The research achievement laid a good foundation for development of the welding expertsystem later, at the same time it will be a good reference value for other industries utilizingparametric modeling with CAD.
