Honing processing is an effective way of the inner hole machining, its effect is obvious.It can not only remove larger allowance and improve the inner hole geometry accuracy, butalso can reduce the hole surface roughness.Honing processing are widely used in aviation, spaceflight, automobile, motorcycle,hydraulic pneumatic, oil pump and nozzle, industrial sewing machine, precision mouldindustry and other precision hole processing field for its high precision, high efficiency, wideapplicability, reasonable price and easy operation etc. The demand of honing machine isobvious and the design of honing machine seems imminent.This paper, taking MK2120horizontal deep hole honing machine as the research object,aims at the structure design of horizontal deep hole honing machine and the main componentsof the dynamic characteristics to improve the machining precision and machining efficiencyrate.Main research contents and results of the paper:According to the honing processing principles and characteristics, the process of cuttingmovement, and the mechanical design principle, the structure design of horizontal deep holehoning machine is carried out, the size is determined and the CAD entity model is drawn.With the application of ANSYS Workbench platform, respectively analysis on honinghead and honing machine base for finite element analysis, the solid modeling method, finiteelement modeling and modal analysis method of honing head and base is introduced and thefirst10natural frequency of the two key components is drawn, providing a basis for theoptimization design of honing machine base. With the application of ANSYS Workbench platform, the base beam size of horizontalhoning machine has been optimized, the relationship between the length, width and thicknessof the base beam cross section and the base frequency are studied and a set of optimizationscheme is obtained, so that the machine has low weight and good dynamic characteristics.With the application of ANSYS Workbench platform, the optimized base model ofhorizontal deep hole honing machine is topology optimized. Under the condition ofsatisfying the requirements of machine stress, the weight of the machine is reduced, theproduction cost is reduced and the economic efficiency is improved.
