Outlast viscose fiber is a kind of thermostat fiber that could absorb and release heat accordingto the changed environment temperature. It has been widely used in the preparation of temperingtextiles. But seamless weaving technology is a high-tech modern knitting weaving process thatcould make fabric a basic molding weaving. In this paper, Outlast viscose fiber’s temperatureadjusting performance would be combined with the design flexibility advantages of seamlessweaving technology to achieve the each part design of Outlast viscose seamless clothing meethuman’s physiological needs and different physiological comfort conditions in different parts.The research would provide some reference value for the design and development of the newthermostat seamless knitted fabric.This paper made a comparison between Outlast viscose seamless knitted fabric and ordinaryviscose seamless knitted fabric. It researched the effect of Outlast viscose content and weavestructures on temperature adjusting performance of seamless knitted fabric in body surface.According to the requirements of a seamless weaving, the Outlast blended yarn which contains50%Outlast viscose fiber and50%viscose fiber was selected to interweave with ordinaryviscose yarn. The interweaving ratios were0:100,50:50and100:0. Besides, three ordinary andrepresentative weave structures of seamless knitted fabric including plain knit,3+1false rib knitand pile knit were selected to participate in knitting. Under the experimental program, nine setsof seamless knitted fabric were obtained.Outlast viscose seamless knitted fabric’s authentic thermostat performance in the ambienttemperature would be tested by sweating manikin mimicking human. The test results would becombined with study of human physiology to analysis the effect of Outlast viscose content andweave structures on temperature adjusting performance and thermal comfort of Outlast viscoseseamless knitted fabric.The study showed that the plain knitted fabric has minimal alteration of temperature adjustingperformance in the process of heating and cooling with Outlast content increasing, as well as theperformance of delay heating and cooling, but the ability of buffering the cooling rate increased. The plain knitted fabric’s main thermostat stage was in the range of skin’s average comfortabletemperature. The3+1false rib knitted fabric’s temperature adjusting performance increasednotably in the process of the heating and cooling with Outlast content increasing, as well as theperformance of delay heating and cooling, but the ability of buffering the rate of heating andcooling had no change. The3+1false rib knitted fabric’s main thermostat stage contained therange of skin’s average comfortable temperature. The pile knitted fabric’s ability of buffering therate of heating and delaying cooling improved markedly with Outlast content increasing, as theability of buffering the rate of cooling and delaying heating not improved. Besides, pile knittedfabric would easily lead to high body temperature the in hot environment. Its main thermostatstage also contained the range of skin’s average comfortable temperature. Furthermore, theexperimental results of different parts of thermal manikin surface showed that if the body ofteninto the hot and cold environment from a moderate temperature environment, the chest shoulduse plain knitted fabric whose thermostat effect in this part has little difference between theinterweaving ratio of50:50and100:0. The abdomen should adopt the3+1false rib knitted fabriccontaining Outlast viscose fiber. Plain knitted fabric could be combined to improve the effect ofbuffering the rate of heating. The backside should adopt the pile knitted fabric containing Outlastviscose fiber. Plain knitted fabric also could be combined to improve the effect of buffering therate of heating. The range of arm physiological comfortable temperature is lower, plain knittedfabric should be adopted in this part, as its ability of buffering the rate of cooling developed tothe same level when the interweaving ratio was50:50and100:0in this part. Similar to arms,plain knitted fabric should be adopted in legs, as its thermostat performance improved little withOutlast viscose content increasing in this part.The wearability of Outlast viscose seamless knitted fabric contains elasticity of constantelongation, moisture absorption, moisture-penetrability, air permeability, pilling resistance andrigid-flexible. By testing to it, it showed some results. With the increase of Outlast viscosecontent, seamless knitted fabric’s moisture absorption, moisture-penetrability, air permeability,pilling resistance and softness was gradually going off but the elasticity of constant elongationand warmth retention improved. And it would have different degree of influence on thewearability of different weave fabric.Combined with above research results, a set of age season’s women Outlast viscose seamless knitted garment would be designed that conform to the human physiology and ergonomicsrequirements by using Outlast viscose as the main material, so that the body could have a goodthermal comfort and taking comfort in every parts when wearing.
