Two parts of works has been finished in this thesis. The first part is the feasibility study of the modification of C.I. Disperse Red 60(reffered to as Red 60). The main works finished in this part are: four new modified dyes are obtained by adding 4 kinds of various substituent groups between the phenoxy and the benzene ring of Red 60; application performance of the four new dyes are compared by testing their reflectance and ?E; the one with best performance are picked out to be purified and identified by IR and HR. The feasibility method of modification is summarized as: in order to decrease Red 60’s color change, we can shorten the conjugatedchain of the whole molecule to reduce the impact of the electron density changed by soaping. The second part work is the feasibility study of the red disperse dyes with benzodifuranone structure used for heat transfer printing on cotton, which mainly contains the following details: synthesized benzodiazepine furans basic structure; printed it and the same type structure dyes C.I. Disperse Red 356 and C.I. Disperse Red 367 to cotton fabric by heat transfer printing; measured color chromaticity parameters and soaping color fastness of the printed cotton fabric. We come to initial conclusions by comparing their property and three-dimensional structures as: the property of the commercialized dyes(Red 356 and 367) printed on the cotton do not satisfy the requirements of the practical application, but it is possible to get a red dye that has excellent fastness by modify the basic dye structure. So, another 3 new dyes with different kinds of substituent groups of benzodiazepine furans basic structure were synthesized. By comparing their property, we got the following conclusions: the three new dyes are still unsatisfied, but the ones with symmetrical structures show better application performance, so we could add some other substituent groups to get some new dyes with better performance in the future work.
