In this paper,in order to solve the domestic thermal sublimation transfer printing paper's problems,such as slow ink drying rate,poor print resolution,edge rolling and short storage time,the effects of the types and amounts of adhesives and pigments of the thermal transfer paper surface coating on the quality of transfer paper were studied.And the prepared transfer paper was applied in the sublimation transfer printing of polyester with disperse dyes.Taking the outline of clarity,K/S,transfer rate and color fastness as indexes,the preparation and transfer process of transfer paper were optimized,thus the heat transfer paper with smooth surface,unrolled edges,high printing precision,fast drying rate of ink was prepared,and printed fabric with high color volume,high transfer rate,high contour clarity and high color fastness was obtained.Firstly,polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and modified guar gum were used as adhesive,through observing the surface morphology,using the outline sharpness,the drying rate,K/S and the transfer rate of printing fabrics as the evaluation indexes,the effects of different pigments on the preparation and application of polyester disperse dye sublimation transfer printing paper were discussed.The results are as follows: the heat sublimation transfer paper using talcum powder as pigment is the smoothest and the edge sharpness is the highest,but the K/S and the transfer rate are the lowest.The heat sublimation transfer paper using the nano-Si O2 as pigment,the ink absorption rate is the fastest and after transfer the printing color of the fabric and transfer rates are the best.On the whole,the thermal transfer paper made by nano-Si O2 is the best in the transfer process.Secondly,PVA1788,PVA1799,PVA224,PVA2499 were used as the transfer paper's surface coating adhesive for the thermal transfer paper,the effects of PVA,amount,surface coating thickness of transfer paper and the amount of nano-Si O2 on the K/S,the edge sharpness and transfer rate of the fabric were investigated.Then the transfer temperature and time of printing process were discussed.The results show that PVA1788 and PVA224 with low degree of alcoholysis are suitable for thermal transfer paper surface coating.The optimal coating formulation and transfer printing process is as follows: the content of PVA224 is 6%,the content of nano-Si O2 is 0.8%,transfer temperature is 220 ? and the transfer time is 70s;the content of PVA1788 is 8%,the dosage of nano-Si O2 is 0.8%,transfer temperature is 220 ? and the transfer time is 50 s,and the pressure is 0.5 MPa.When the two formulations were selected,the high apparent color depth and transfer rate can be obtained under the optimal process conditions,and the fastness can reach Level 5,and the strength loss is small.Finally,guar gum was used as the adhesive to discuss the effect of the quality and application in polyester disperse dye sublimation transfer printing paper,and the effects of time and temperature on transfer printing were studied.The research content includes: the dosage of guar gum,urea and nano-Si O2,and transfer time and temperature.The results show that when the dosage of guar gum is 6%,the dosage of nano-Si O2 is 0.3%,the heat transfer temperature is 220 ?,the time is 40 s,and the pressure is 0.5 MPa,under the circumstances,the print effect of the heat sublimation transfer paper was the best,and has high print resolution and quick ink drying rate.After transfer,the fabric can obtain higher surface color depth and transfer rate,and the color fastness reached above Level 4,the strength loss rate was low,and the hand feeling was good.The printing ink of the sublimation transfer paper made by guar gum completely dried in the 60 s approximately,while the sublimation transfer paper made by PVA completely dried around 120 s.The K/S and transfer rate of the heat sublimation transfer paper made by guar gum was higher than those made by polyvinyl alcohol,but the color fastness was worse.Compared with the transfer paper using CMC as adhesive,with the increase of storage time,the K/S and edge sharpness of the printed fabric using the transfer paper prepared by guar gum and PVA reduced lower.Meanwhile,the thermal transfer paper prepared with CMC as adhesive was easy to roll edges,while the thermal transfer paper prepared with PVA and guar gum has no curling phenomenon.
