Nowadays, the electric power industry has become the security of the National economydevelopment,it plays more and more important role in the civilization of human society.Power distribution network is an important branch in electrical network, it directly associateswith the power users and it is an important part of the power system. The distribution networkis a huge information carrier which distributes widely in regional and has many amount andtype of electrical equipment, it involves not only a large number of static information such asgeographic features, network structure and the attributes of the distribution equipment etc,butalso has the power system dynamic real-time status information. However, the traditionaltwo-dimensional power GIS system is simply a way of filling graphics written, it is difficultto real intuitively reflect power line to the surrounding terrain, equipment and buildings, itcould not provide real working environment information for the Power design planningpersonnel and power emergency repair personnel.However, along with the computer technology, communication technology and3D GIStechnology improvement and professional applications, these technologies provide a powerfultechnical support for the establishment of the3D electric power distribution network system.Through the research of the Skyline software modules and combines with its application inother industries and units user needs.This article, from3D scene,3D model making, modeldata organization and management of electric power distribution network systemdevelopment, discusses the main content of each work and its realization methods of theestablishment of the3D electric power distribution network application system. The systemused3DSMax modeling tool to complete the3D model data, and the3D terrain data isconstructed by Terrain Builder software; the system engineering Fly files are integrated inTerraexplorer pro at last. The system uses Visual Studio2005as development environment and adopts the functional interfaces provided by C#to achieve secondary development system;and finally implement the3D system browse roaming, measuring function, equipmentattribute to check, planning and design and equipment statements, and other functions.Power distribution network application system uses remote sensing image and DEM datato establish a real3D terrain scene, and use intuitive three-dimensional model instead ofabstract map symbol, directly linked the attribute information and3D models, truly achievethe seamless integration between graphical data (model data) and the attribute information,create a good conditions for a variety of spatial analysis, provide three-dimensionalinformation services for equipment management, planning and design, equipment repair, andvigorously improve the informatization level and service level of the power distributionnetwork.
