Aero-engine is the core component of aircraft, the performance of engine directly determines theaircraft’s performance. Currently, with the development of embedded control technology, theelectronic control system with the core of high-performance microcontroller are increasingly beingused in engine control. With the advanced design method of embedded system, complex controlalgorithms can be applied to the engine control simple strategy easily. With the streamlined structureof electronic system, the engine system becomes more reliable. In this paper, a certain type of pistonaero-engine was transformed, and an electronic control system which can make this engine operatenormally was design through hard research work.Firstly, the overall design plan was drawn up, through the summary of requirements of the typeof piston aero-engine’s control system, with some reference of the mature technology fromautomotive engine electonic control technology. AFI(Airforced-fuel injection) and ESA(Electronicspark advance) were focus which can ensure the stability of the engine operation.Secondly, according to the design plan, input and output were defined. For this, appropriatesensors, actuators and processing circuit for them were selected. The PowePC-core engine-specificmicrocontroller MPC566was selected as the core of the control system. Then, a stable and stronghardware system was designed for the engine.Thiredly, based on the reliable hardware and requirements of engine control, a software whichincludes control program in microcontroller and calibration software for PC was designed. Thecontrol software contains self-developed AFI and ESA technology, and works very well. Finally, the electronic control system was calibrated and verified through experiment. The fuelinjection quantity and particle size of oil mist was calibrated, and the accuracy of the ignition controlwas verfied. And experiment made sure that the electronic contrl system was useful and reliable. Thissystem lays the foundation for further work of engine calibration.
