Reconstruction And Revival-Study On The Protection And Development Of Liyuan Historic And Culture Districts In Qingdao

Qingdao is an important city in Chinese modern history.In its urban construction and development process, the integration of Chinese and Western architecture is the very topic. Liyuan buildings had produced and developed in the context of this era. The form of Liyuan buildings is a typical product of modern Western urban planning mode.However, the building design and courtyard design does have the characteristics of Chinese architecture. Exactly the Liyuan building is a fusion of Chinese quad and Western architectural style residential apartment mode. Mingling Of East-West Style is a major architectural feature of Qingdao. But in the recent years with the scale of the old Qingdao’s transformation is expanding and the speed of it is accelerating,the area of Liyuan building is sharply reducing.The traditional Liyuan block are gradually being removed and destroyed and its condition is worried. Therefore, how to protect transform the Liyuan building and their space texture is an important problem.In this paper, the Qingdao Liyuan historic and cultural district is as a research object, the author collected and reorganized a large number of domestic and international protection about development of historic district on the basis theory and practical experience. On the basis of investigation and survey about the Qingdao Liyuan historic and cultural district,the author summarize and conclude the practical protection and renewal measures of Qingdao Liyuan buildings and the historic district.The paper is divided into six chapters, as follows:Chapter1and2:Introduces the research background,the the main research methods and the domestic and international protection and development theory about historic district.Chapter3and4:Rationalizes the Qingdao urban development context, summarizes and refined the character of Qingdao and the feature of Qingdao Liyuan historic district.Chapter5and6:By summarizing and rethinking about urban planning practice of the most representative Liyuan historic district----SIfang Road historic district, the author advances the basic principles and measures about Qingdao historic district.
