Research On Chart Service And Application System Based On The ArcGIS Platform

In recent years, GIS (Geographic Information System) technology driven by computer science and Internet technology, especially cloud computing technology, gradually highlights whose main application is WebGIS. The most important trend of WebGIS technology is the "service", which means providing a full range of GIS function by the way of service, and building GIS application for the companies or the public based on the services provided by the GIS platform.With the development of GIS technology which main trends are "comprehensive and standard service as well as terminal diversity ", There is urgent need to change the way to work from the original ECDIS based on B/S or C/S to "service" GIS. This article, combined with the advantage of ArcGIS components and the characteristics of chart service and application, proposes the research charts services and applications based on the ArcGIS platform, designs and implements chart services and applications prototype system which is in line with the trend of the development of service GIS based on ArcGIS platform. Expect that there is a positive effect to perfect construction and function of chart service and application system.Specific work is summarized as follows:(1) Analyze detailedly the development’s status of the electronic chart application system and the trend of service GIS’s development, and then propose the study for the system of chart services and applications based on the ArcGIS platform.(2) Analyze deeply the ArcGIS platform, combine the Flex technology with the style of REST development, propose the main framework of chart service and application prototype system.(3) Build server system of chart service and application based on ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server and ArcGIS nautical solution; using Flex technology and the style of REST development, build RIA-style client for charts and application system, implement chart service and application prototype system based on the ArcGIS platform.(4) According to the need of the main functions of the Vessel Monitoring System, design the vessel monitoring system based on architecture of the prototype system, using Flex technology, combining the ArcGIS API for the Flex, develop the basic function of monitor terminal of vessel monitoring system.
