Modern education has made tremendous contributions not only to China but also to the world education in the whole education process. When the industrial society pattern changes, education background has changed at the same time. The exam-oriented education moving forward to quality-oriented education is a kind of inevitable trend. Quality-oriented education is more advantageous to the elementary and middle school students’ own development. But at the same time, it put forward higher request for the space design and utilities of those schools. As the land and construction area of the primary and middle school in our country is relatively tight, it requires the architectural space design to achieve efficient, reasonable, flexible with limited resources; the trend toward diversified, individualized learning organization form of the school, requires the school to create a flexible learning and living space for students; all of these put forward new requirements and challenge for the space layout and concrete construction of the school buildings. The objective of this paper is:through the study of Chinese modern primary school education idea, the development of the education model and the corresponding teaching space, to understand the current situation at home and abroad; to investigate the relevant areas of relatively mature and influential theory and the representative of the empirical study, and to understand the deficiencies and defects of the activity space situation of contemporary school children. Using of the knowledge of behavioral science, sociology and other related areas, it try to find a state of rational existence for modern elementary school teaching space, to put forward the demand pattern of it at the situation of promoting quality-oriented education. Namely the teaching space adapting to quality-oriented education should be based on user behavior: based on the law of the growth of children, teaching space should reflect the change in the teaching activities between teachers and students, from taking teachers as the center into taking the students self as the center; the use of ambiguity space in teaching space should be emphasized; the teaching space boundary should be softened according to the growth of students considering the different shape and the degree of permeability, to accommodate and permeate learning behavior happening every moment.
