In recent years, our risk management of engineering projects is developing from the original understanding of the technological progress, and gradually combined with the practical application together. Since the railway project has a large cost, long duration and many characteristics, so its organizational relationships are very complex. The current railway construction project investment is always very large, and its construction period often requires a very short time, the technical and quality level requires relatively higher. And also the construction environment is more complex, therefore, the contractor in the project implementation phase of construction is facing various risks. Now more and more engineers pay attention risk management to in the construction of new railway projects, and the research of risk management become one of the hottest research topics.In this paper, the risk management of the new Yun-gui railway project is studied. The engineering geological is complex there, there is not enough water, and also the tunnel and bridge construction is difficult in that project. The Analytical Hierarchy Process analysis method is introduced here. The research results show that the value of risk in the Yun-gui railway project is about5.183, the project construction risk is moderate, the project’s inherent risk is larger than the external risks, natural risk is the greatest risk, followed by economic factors, ant then political factors, and also the technology risk is greater than the non-technical risk. The research results could be used for choosing appropriate risk management measures to reduce or waive the possible risks.
