A Study On Living Space Design For SOHO

With the arrival of the information age, a series of opportunities and changes have been brought to people’s lives. They are no longer subject to the restrictions of time and location; however, working method and schedule can be determined according to their preferences and habits. The free living form attracted a large number of followers, We called it SOHO——Small Office Home Office. Therefore, according to the living space design of SOHO is essential.This paper conducts questionnaire survey, home research, net interviews and other research methods to understand the SOHO family structure, characteristics, living conditions and values, and thus to further clarify the object of the text. On this basis, use documentary research, survey research, comparative study, statistical method to analyze the demand of living space of SOHO. And discuss from two aspects:the design of interior space design and interior environment design. On one hand, to meet the primary space needs based on their rational distribution and organic organization in line and space circuit. To achieve low-carbon insulation space, designs in cut-off need to be flexible and appropriate. Meanwhile, to resolve the contradictions between the living space and the working space, necessary suggestions for designing working space and other functions will be raised. On the other hand, under the premise of the survey, the author focuses the design elements as the design thinking, and purposes reasonable programs from furnishing, plants, fabric, and light for SOHO.In order to solve the contradiction of SOHO space in the home and office, first, the author proposed the concrete plan for office space, furniture, storage space design, the color design, the working environment illumination mode design. Not only considered the physiological and psychological demands of SOHO, but also to ensure that the home office life of comfort and coordination. Secondly, according to the63.5%SOHO residential area less than90square meters, and the space has a multifunctional, flexible transparent demand, put forward:the living space to be fully meet the SOHO living needs, the kitchen space to organize domestic routes, sanitary space efficiency save area, rest space to achieve multiple functions.Finally, through the analysis of three outstanding cases, we combine theory and practice. The design thinking of SOHO indoor living space is further elaborated.
