The vehicle weapon system maintains the characteristics of portable missiles, such as high guidance precision, small size, light weight, flexible operation and low cost, and also increase the missile’s mobility, target detection capability, repeated interception capability, automatic all-weather combat capability and combat effectiveness. The key to ensure the missile weapon system performance is designing an advanced fire control system.This paper describes the design and implementation of the fire control system for a kind of light vehicle weapon system. For rapid response, high stability and good accuracy requirement of the fire control system, the embedded real time operating system WinCE is analyzed, and the results show that building fire control system software based on the WinCE system is feasible. A simplified UKF algorithm has been proposed to solve the missile turret automatical target tracking problem, which is used to estimate the target’s motion state. This paper uses the CA model to describe the motion state of the target. In the vehicular missile turret’s control application the observation equation is linear. So the UKF can be simplified. A control method of the vehicular missile turret is implemented. It can be used to track the air targets automatically. The PC/104 industrial computer is the core of the fire control system hardware. Based on WinCE’s interrupt mechanism, thread scheduling, and its excellent graphical interface, a fire control system software has been implemented. The fire control system is proved to meet the requirements by its good performance.
