| A reasonable design of anchorage will have direct effect on the economic benefit of the port and the safety of the arriving vessels. And to determine the dimension of the anchorage, two factors should be considered. The first is how many anchorages the port needs. The second is how to confirm the size of the anchorage which are suitable for all the anchorage berths. The key is to confirm the number of the anchorage berth according to the number and the efficiency of the current berth. Only by confirming the number of the anchorage berth firstly, can plan the scale of the anchorage more reasonably.The method recommended by Design Code of General Layout for Sea Port, which uses queuing theory, is proper to calculate the number of the anchorage berth. And this is also a general method to solve the stochastic service system in transport. However, traffic simulation based on queuing theory can solve the problem more properly. For through this method the calculated number of the anchorage berth is more realistic.Through the analysis about the service system of anchorage and berth, the paper, taking the anchorage and the berth as a whole system, based on the current number of the anchorage and the service efficiency of the berth, gets the regularity of distribution after the vessel’s arrival. Assuming the navigation channel’s capacity is sufficient for the coming vessels, using the model of discrete event simulation, applying traffic simulation based on queuing theory to build the model of anchorage service system, start the simulation through Matlab7.0platform. Confirm the number of the berth according to the arrived vessels waiting in the anchorage.This paper, taking Huanghua port as an example, through the statistical analysis of the arrived coal vessels in Huanghua coal port in2008, obtaining the regularity of distribution after the vessel’s arrival, putting relevant parameter into the simulation program, gets the needed number of the berth and outputs the relevant curve. After that, compare the data with the practical situation in Huanghua port to test the applicability of the program and supply some reference to the design of anchorage in Huanghua port. |
