According to the hybrid electric vehicle, the power demand of the road conditionis mainly supplied by the engine, the traction motor plays a part as ‘power shifting’,The traditional matching method focus on bettering the economical working area ofthe engine, which will lower the chances of the motor working in the high efficientarea, thus the fuel economy of the vehicle will be discounted. The common testingmethod of the motor used in the hybrid electric car couldn’t meet the demand of thecertain road driving cycle. So supported by the project of the enterprise, the paper dosome research on the parameters matching and performance of the motor used in thehybrid electrical car based on the real driving cycle.First the operating test of the hybrid electric car is done under the real drivingcondition, and the driving character of the city is gained. The driving sport and itscharacteristic value are got form the speed data using the MATLAB software. Thenthe main principle analysis and the cluster analysis is done using the SPSS software.According to the result of the cluster analysis the driving cycle characterize the city’ssmooth,jam and comprehensive driving condition is made. The corresponding motorspeed、motor torque cycle is made according to the data collected from the operatingtest.The peak parameters (peak power, peak torque and peak speed) of the BSGmotor and the traction motor is matched according to the power demand of the HEV.According to the distribution of the BSG working mode, it is found that the BSGworking in the generating mode more frequently, so the matching method of the BSGcontinuous power based on the driving cycle is proposed and the ideal traction motorrate parameters of the traction motor is found combined the loss model of the motor,the two-dimension distribution of the motor working speed&torque and the motorspeed&torque driving cycle. At last the simulation model of the vehicle is build usingthe CRUISE software, simulation result of the previous motor and the new matched motor shows that the portion of the high efficient working point of the motor isenlarged and thus the fuel economy of the HEV is improved.According to the working distribution of the traction motor of the driving cycle,the motor test cycle and evaluating method is proposed which made the demand of carwhen running on the road condition can be reflected well by the test and evaluationdone on the motor.
