Residence relates to people’s daily living, and has a close relationship with the life. The residentialdesign is always a topic of people’s discussion. Now commercial residence is divided into two states. Oneis that the real estate business launches the “Luxurious Residence””Sun Room”, whose surface looksscenery, but interior is void and similar. These residential patterns have little to do with the physical needsand the emotional demand of people. The other is the “Empty City” phenomenon. In this state, thehomebuyers couldn’t buy the residences which are fit for their space because of the price, geographicalenvironment, surrounding environment and type of flat. Obviously this condition is a waste of the resources,and an expression of “unsuitable for living” in the livable city. The microscopically livable city has thegood living environment of individual constructional interior, suitably residential area, reasonable structureof the houses, advanced sanitation, and good ventilation and lighting. This text has a research on the spatialpattern of the residence from the microscopic view, adopting the advanced thoughts and manners of homeand abroad and abandoning the unreasonable elements of the spatial pattern. Thus it can make the earth usereasonably, and provide effective causes to realize the livable city and make the reasonable livingenvironment.This text is aimed at which residential pattern modes suited for the needs of people, satisfying theurban livable situation, connecting with the Ekistics theory which was raised by Doxiadis, and has ananalysis of how to use the residential indoor space pattern reasonably and effectively from the social,human and climatic elements. Firstly, the social element has an emphasis on the economic, emotion and theculture elements to make an analysis of the spatial pattern. It contrasts and draws lessons from the existingforeign residential modes, and finds the developmental modes which are suitable for domestic citizens tolive. Secondly, the human element mainly considers the measure and function, especially the psychologicalmeasure and spiritual function which the standing designers neglect. It makes an analysis of the commontype of flat and concludes the advantages and disadvantages. Again, the climatic elements, especially thenatural wind and the natural light, are mainly analyzed, combining with the indoor space, the architectureform itself, and the outdoor environment. Finally, combining with the market prospect conclusions and the tendency of the outlook of the indoor spatial pattern, in the condition of satisfying the livable city from thegreen, scientific and flexible aspects, it puts forward the higher and the deeper requirement of theresidential indoor pattern.This text is based on the existing common residential spatial layout, linking the single space to thesurrounding space and the whole architecture, to analyze, discuss and research various factors thatinfluenced the extent to the residential indoor spatial layout. On that basis, we can put forward theequivalent strategies of different forms, thus making the residential designs reach the ecological and energyefficient requirement, and meeting the increasing requirement of the economy and the society. Then it canmake the design connect with the architecture and the human environment better, to realize the livable aim.
