The glazed hollow bead concrete is a new type of building materials. The perfect combination between low thermal conductivity and high compressive strength of traditional concretes is the biggest advantage of the glazed hollow bead concrete.The reduction of thermal conductivity decreased building energy consumption in the full life cycle,the perfect combination between insulation and bearing reduces the weight of buildings, improve the seismic performance of buildings, under the premise of ensuring safety of residents, reduce energy consumption in buildings, relieve the pressure on the environment. The research and promotion for the concrete is not only echoed with an important issue in China’s12th Five-Year Plan-building energy efficiency, but also coincided with all mankind sustainable development strategy requires. And it will greatly contribute to relieve the development of energy issues and environmental problems of all mankind future.Our group has previously conducted in-depth study of mechanical properties and thermal performance of the glazed hollow bead concrete. However, its durability test research is almost empty. The durability of the concrete in recent years has been paid more and more attention, this paper does some experimental and theoretical analysis on the durability of the main indicators of the concrete.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1) Preparations. Solve the problem of segregation and stratification of the glazed hollow bead concrete at the construction site by pre-wet processing technology. test. the compressive strength,thermal conductivity,elastic modulus and steel bond strength of the glazed hollow bead concrete.(2) Carbonation test:analyze and refer to carbonation mechanism of the ordinary concrete, consider the impact of particles of glazed hollow beads, research theoretical and experimental test of concrete carbonation,and compare with ordinary concrete. Analyze three different intensity levels C25,C30, C35of carbonation test, come to the law of concrete anti-carbonation capacity changing with the strength grade.,and obtain the simplified formula of the carbonation depth.(3) Steel corrosion test:analyze and refer to steel corrosion mechanism of the ordinary concrete,consider the impact of particles of glazed hollow beads, research theoretical and experimental test of steel corrosion in three different intensity levels-C25,C30,C35,and compare with ordinary concrete.(4) Sulfate corrosion test:analyze and refer to the sulfate corrosion mechanism of the ordinary concrete,consider the impact of particles of glazed hollow beads, research theoretical and experimental test of sulfate corrosion in three different intensity levels-C25,C30,C35,and compare with ordinary concrete.Summarizing the whole analysis works, some primary conclusions can be achieved as follows:(1)Under the test conditions,anti-carbonation capacity of the glazed hollow bead concrete is better than ordinary concrete. In the three different intensity levels-C25,C30,C35,anti-carbonation capacity of the glazed hollow bead concrete increases with the increase of its strength grade.(2)Under the test conditions,anti-corrosion ability of rebar in the glazed hollow bead concrete is equally matched with ordinary concrete.(3)Under the test conditions,resistance to sulfate attack ability of the glazed hollow bead concrete is worse than ordinary concrete. In the three different intensity levels-C25,C30,C35, resistance to sulfate attack ability of the glazed hollow bead concrete increases with the increase of its strength grade.
