As the electricity play an important role in people’s production and life, Most of electronic equipment and non-linear loads widely used result a series of power quality problems such as voltage waveform distortion and harmonic content increased. If can’t eliminate and improve power quality, it is not only likely to cause serious pollution to the grid, but also affect the normal work of the power electronic devices. Using power quality monitoring equipment to monitor power grid’s operating status has become a popular method. Measurement data from the monitoring system can not only reflect power grid’s pollution, but also can provide a reference to predict and improve power quality. Therefore, it has a great significance to further study the theory of power quality and to research power quality equipment.This paper, based on analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of quality monitoring equipment concern of domestic and foreign, combination with the index of power quality, design and develop a real-time power quality monitoring device based on DSP chip as the core. The monitoring device uses TMS320F2812chip that TI company produce chip of32-bit and fixed-point. It also design and develop software in order to achieve synchronous collection of the three-phase voltage, current, and signal processing. The paper also raises improvements to defects existed in the past device. The specific work is as follows:(1)The article describes the importance of domestic and foreign research dynamics and trends of the study to power quality. It also gives power quality index classification concern of domestic and foreign.(2) The paper gives the formula and the measurement principle of the power quality of the parameters, also raises the overall design concept of the real-time power quality monitoring system. At the same time, it completes careful design that related to the various parts and continuous experimentation. All this work lays the foundation for the final system solution determination.(3) Design and develop the hardware circuit. The function of the hardware circuit is mainly to complete data collection, data analysis, data transmission and data storage. The ADS8364chip is core device of analog to digital conversion in the data collection part. In addition, the paper also design signal conditioning circuits and peripheral circuits that could pre-process the collection signal. In signal processors aspect, the paper choose the TMS320F2812devices that produced by TI company. The component has rich external interfaces. Meanwhile, it designs the communication circuit and memory circuit. In data transmission, the paper uses the CAN bus to Ethernet module for data transmission, because the CAN bus has a greater advantage in data transmission compared with other means of transmission. In data storage aspect, the paper chooses USB118AD module with a USB interface to store real-time data to external memory.(4) Design the system software. The paper designs the main program running on the monitoring circuit and the program used by each function module, at the same time, complete program debugging on the CCS compiler platform. Finally, the program successfully ported to the hardware circuit.(5) The paper has completed the test of device. The experiments show that the monitoring system could complete the design requirements and achieve the desired effect, also can effectively monitor power quality.
