Container multimodal transportation is the trend and direction of the development of freight transportation, among which the rail-sea intermodal transportation surges with its unique advantages.The increasing economic progression in China and the implementation of the western development constantly move the coastal economy into the inland areas,which promote the development of railway transportation, the demand for railway container transport volume, the demand for the rail-sea intermodal transportation, and thus the demand for the connection between railway and ports.Railway container ports and stations as the link build a bridge for the rail-sea intermodal transportation, by which the sea transportation and the railway transportation could be seamlessly connected from liners to trains.The construction of railway container ports and stations is capable of improving the railway collection and distribution system of port, the capacity of container port in the collection and distribution, and the railway container transport volume so as to enhance the development of railway transportation. Therefore,to accelerate to construction of multiple functional railway container ports and stations is the key to boost the railway container transport volume and the rail-sea intermodal transportation. It is thus significant to study the layout of railway container ports and stations.Based on the existing studies on the development of railway container ports and stations home and abroad, this thesis focuses on the problems of ports and stations in China. Starting from the principles of layout, it firstly analyzes two operation modes.Secondly, it studies the layout forms of stations and the modes into port and layout of loading and unloading lines on the basis of work flow of containers and the convergence between the ports and stations. Thirdly, via the analysis of the imbalance of container ships to port and the composition of containers, it modifies the carrying capacity of containers at ports and further find out the coordinating relation between the length of loading and unloading lines at stations and ports and the carrying capacity of containers at ports.Lastly, with the example of Zhaoyin Port, it studies the layout of ports and stations,and presents a graph layout.
