With the development of knowledge economy, knowledge isincreasingly becoming the most important resources and the source of thecore competitiveness of enterprises. More and more industries andenterprises began to explore the way of knowledge management fit fortheir situation. Tooling is the essential equipment and tool during theaircraft manufacturing process. So it plays a very important role inaircraft development. Tooling design greatly influences the design anddelivery cycle of aircrafts. Under increasingly demanding marketenvironment of shorter delivery time, lower cost and higher quality,aviation manufacturing enterprises need to improve the efficiency oftooling design to enhance their competitiveness urgently. Tooling designis a kind of knowledge-intensive and creative activity. It has transitedfrom the past experience-based design to knowledge-based designgradually.Driven by the practical needs of a large domestic aircraftmanufacturing enterprise and on the basis of analyzing the researchbackground of knowledge management, this thesis mainly focuses onthree aspects: knowledge representation, retrieval and push methods fortooling design, to make up for the weakness of the existing methods.In order to achieve high-efficiency knowledge management andreuse, Firstly, we analyzed the characteristics of tooling design knowledge in detail, the ontology-based knowledge representationmethod was studied. The tooling design ontology model, which includesof the design object, designer, design process and design knowledge, wasestablished, achieving the effective organization of tooling designknowledge. Secondly, to tackle the problem of the inefficient support ofsemantic retrieval and the lack of diversity in knowledge retrievalmethods, an ontology-based retrieval method for tooling design wasproposed, using different retrieval methods for different types ofknowledge to meet users’ different retrieval requirements. In addition, inorder to improve the accuracy of knowledge push, knowledge flow-basedpush method was proposed. We build the knowledge flow modelincluding the documentation layer and the theme layer. Then presentedthe extraction method and process of knowledge flow. In the first step,determine the target knowledge theme based on the similarity ofknowledge flows. Then combining with users’rating to decide knowledgeto be pushed the target user. This method achieved the personalized pushof documentation knowledge.Finally, according to the foregoing key technology research, wedeveloped a prototype knowledge management system for tooling design,and introduced the overall framework and functional modules of thesystem, and verified our research with the example of the assembly jigdesign for horizontal tail beam with the help of our system.
