The vehicle travels on a flat straight road when the steering wheel is in the middle position. If the car wanders and deviate away the straight line though it should keep going straight, we call this abnormal phenomenon vehicle driving wandering. The vehicle driving wandering problem not only speed up the wear and tear of parts and tires, but also bring about dangerous conditions of flat tire or incontrollable.《Safety Conditions of motor vehicles》 provisions:The connection of the front and rear axle center and driving the centerline of the track should be consistent when the motor vehicle keep going straight. The vehicle should have a stable straight-line driving ability. However, there are inevitably some inaccuracy existed during the manufacturing and assembly of the vehicle, so a little portion of the vehicle have the driving wandering issue after end of line. So, it is important to develop a high reliability of the car online driving wandering the test system to detect the vehicle to make sure the security of the vehicle when it is running.This article introduced a set of the vehicle driving wandering test system from the two aspects of the function of hardware and the design of software. Base on previous work, it analyzed and confirmed system hardware construction which consisted of image acquisition system hardware, wireless communication system hardware and corresponding civil work, etc. According to the construction of system hardware, system software was divided into wireless communication module, image acquisition and processing module, production network communication module and main program module. And then this article introduced the design process of module program clearly.Secondly, according to the problem of the test vehicles in the images of the optical sign can’t be extracted, this article introduced a set of improvement scheme. That is, it is used two groups of CCD camera (one of the camera have common lens, the other one have the filter) to take pictures to meet the impact of light intensity range from the hardware method. From the software method, take good control of the time and sequence of the two groups of CCD camera to take picture, and then choose the better one to dispose.According to the problem of the delays of wireless communication of the hand-held terminals and test host in the testing process, this article introduced to improve the wireless communication environment of the hand-held terminals from the hardware method. From the improvement of software design, this article introduced the method of the adjustment of communication strategy, using the servers’ detective mode based on the queue, program structure simplification, to reduce date loss and errors in the process of transmission.At last, this article make a simple summarize of the research result and shortcomings.
