The construction of highway has made a rapid development in the recentyears. With skyrocketing of traffic volume and multiplying of axle load, theordinary asphalt surface is confronting a greater ordeal.Physical and chemicalproperties of SBS modified can compensate for the defects of ordinary aspha lt,enhance the water stability and high temperature stability, extend the life of theasphalt concrete pavement, improve the quality of its services. Only knowinfluence from a variety of factors, road designers can make the SBS modifiedasphalt pavement more rational, economic, and security. In this study the test choose improvement AC-16gration, asphalt binder andSBS modifier were AH-90produced by Kelamayi Oil Refinery and YanshanPetrochemical Company respectively. Firstly, use the Marshall test method tocalculate the optimum asphalt ratio of SBS modified asphalt mixture, and then usethe immersion Marshall test, rutting test, improved flooding rutting test bychanging the different SBS modifier content, temperature, wheel pressure load, thegrind pressure, the number of graded thickness, etc., to explore the influence ofvarious factors on the water stability and high temperature stability of asphaltmixture. The results show that: the optimum amount of SBS modifier is between5%and6%, the optimum asphalt content of SBS modified asphalt mixture increaseabout0.8%than the ordinary asphalt mixture; from the residual stability indicators,SBS modifier improve the water stability of asphalt mixture; SBS modifier contenthave a great impact on the temperature stability of the modified asphalt mixture.Dynamic stability of SBS modified asphalt mixture has been reached or close topeak as the amount of SBS modifier is between5%and6%; immersion ruttingdepth of ordinary asphalt mixture increase about80%compared to the conventionalrut depth, immersion rutting depth of SBS modified asphalt mixture increase about60%compared to the conventional rut depth.
