On Landscape Protection Of Earthen Buildings Of Ancient Villages In Fujian

There are numerous ancient villages on the land of length and breadth in China.They include not only structures and natural environmental around which constitute the villages but also long history,deep culture and life experience which reflects the form of village and its developing background of politics,economies and historical culture.The landscape of ancient villages is recording the progress of human development and illuminating the root of village civilization.However,with the growing progress of industrialization and urbanization,the idyllic simple life has been broke by disequilibrated production activities,which has caused varying degrees of destruction of landscape of ancient villages.In an era of economic development, Protecting historical and cultural heritage not only shows our respect for historical culture but also is beneficial for cultural heritage and its context.This paper mainly studies on world cultural heritage,taking earthen buildings of Fujian as examples.The earthen building villages in Fujian has the most unique mountain construction all over the world.It also has a long history and rich folk culture.The purpose of this paper is to explore the landscape characteristics of Fujian earthen building villages and the experience and wisdom that people adapt to nature and transform nature and live in harmony with it during their production and lives.The earthen building village of Fujian has formed its mountain residential areas with local characteristics, poetic rurality and quaint landscape of village while its living in harmony with specific environment.It shows our superb intelligence and rich experience of building homes with nature,which has an important instructional significance for modern urban construction.Therefore,the research on the protection of earthen building village of Fujian will be beneficial for our excavating the types and characteristics of landscape elements of earthen building villages and the continuous upgrading of earthen building village landscape,which is instructive for the developing and protection of earthen building villages.The main results of this paper are as follows:(1) The paper explores the distribution of earthen building villages in Fujian,as well as its geographical location according to the spot investigation and searching literatures.In the light of the specific situation of Fujian earthen buildings,this paper analyses the reason for the formation and development of earthen building settlement landscape of Fujian from cultural, geographical and historical factors.(2) Based on the connotation of earthen building village landscape,this paper deeply analyses the essential elements of earthen building villages of Fujian on the basis of spot investigation for them.The elements include:natural environment factors, artificial environmental factors, historical and cultural elements etc.The paper deeply analyses the landscape features of earthen ancient villages and their unique space morphological characteristics by the way of graphical analysis.In addition,the paper summarizes and analyzes the concept of the earthen ancient villages and their construction ideas.(3)Based on the general analysis of ancient villages landscape of Fujian,the paper excavates its potential manner of ecological design and construction of the regional landscape,as well as its meaning for the contemporary landscape design. (4)With the guidance of multi-disciplinary basic theories like landscape architecture,Chinese historic garden aesthetics,landscape engineering,landscape ecology,protection and development of heritage landscape and so forth,the paper proposes the design principles of protection of ancient villages:true qualities,overall protection,people-oriented,ecological priority,context inheritance and rational development.It gives a classification analysis for the protection status and reasons of the earthen building villages of Fujian on the basis of an in-depth research.Afterwards,the ways of protecting design are proposed aiming at various of landscape.(5)On the basis of the study on the basic theory and protection theory of earthen building villages landscape above,the paper gives an analysis of it by combining with the case of Hongkeng Folk Culture Village.
