Confucian temple is a kind of ancient Chinese architecture which worships Confucius,spreads and develops Confucianism.After the imperial edict of Tang Dynasty that "every prefecture and county in the world is a Confucius Temple",the system of combining Confucian temple and school was formally established in every prefecture and county in the country.It reflects the educational function of Confucian temple.At the same time,Confucian temple also has the functions of political enlightenment,cultural heritage,spiritual motivation,faith identity and so on.Confucianism with Chinese characteristics has been developing for thousands of years.It has long been rooted in Chinese traditional culture.Today,it still exists in social reality and daily life,and becomes the base of cultural memory.As the material carrier of Confucianism,Confucian temple is a symbol of Chinese traditional culture,which is conducive to the establishment of Chinese people's cultural consciousness and cultural selfconfidence.From the construction of Confucian temple to the activities of Confucian temple,people have permeated the traditional Chinese spiritual culture from ancient times to the present.The structure of Confucian temple in Qufu is the standard system in China.However,due to the vast area of China and the great difference of folk custom styles,the Confucian temple buildings in different areas follow the standard form and fully combine the characteristics of local customs.Based on the study of the spatial characteristics of Confucian temple buildings,this paper takes the Confucian temple buildings in Inner Mongolia as the research object.Through literature collection,on-the-spot investigation,multi-disciplinary synthesis and other research methods,the ancient books and materials in Inner Mongolia are sorted out,and the existing Confucian temple buildings are surveyed and mapped on-the-spot.This paper studies the site selection characteristics of the ancient Chinese temples at the sites of Shangjing City,Shangdu City,Yingchang Road,Jingzhou Road,Jining road and yijinai road in the early period of Inner Mongolia;the reasons for the establishment,historical evolution,layout characteristics,architectural appearance and appearance of the tumete temple,Baqi Temple,Huhhot county temple,hailarwen temple and Fengzhen temple in the Qing Dynasty At the same time,it analyzes a Zengzi Confucian temple built in modern times.Through the systematic analysis of the 12 Confucian temple buildings in Inner Mongolia,it is concluded that the development process of Confucian temple in Inner Mongolia is divided into four stages: the initial discovery of documents in Liao Dynasty,the orderly formation of power in Yuan Dynasty,the vigorous development in Qing Dynasty,and the modern inheritance and protection.The architectural pattern of tumete Confucian temple and Fengzhen Confucian temple in the Confucian temple built in Inner Mongolia in Qing Dynasty is completely in accordance with the etiquette system,and others According to the local conditions and customs at that time,the Confucian temple will make appropriate adjustments to reduce the setting of some buildings;the location of Confucian temple in Inner Mongolia is located in four places in the southeast,three places in the southwest,one place in the south,one place in the north by the middle and one place in the northwest by the middle.Most of them are located in Liangdi according to Fengshui.Finally,this paper makes a deep and systematic study on the typical example of the best preserved temple in Inner Mongolia,which still plays an educational role.Study its historical role,layout features,architectural features,spatial analysis,current situation and future development,better show the characteristics of Inner Mongolia Confucian temple building,and strengthen protection.
