The Great Wall is tightly linked to the water. The Great Wall of which various ofdynasties and areas reflect the interaction between of the Great Wall and water. When theGreat Wall is built, the line selection, layout, architectural form and construction method alluse the rivers, lakes, swamps and ocean along the Great Wall. And the same time, the GreatWall of architecture and construction form is influenced by water increasingly. With thedevelopment of technology, the technical processes of the Great Wall construction have alsoimproved rapidly. By the change of the time and society, the defensive function of the GreatWall gradually disappeared. The change of the water environment can have a huge impact onthe Great Wall. The protection of the Great Wall and the water should be adequatelyaddressed.Firstly, the article takes water in the military defense as key point. At the time of theorder, in the evolution of the Great Wall from the origin to the development the Great Wallhow to manipulate the water. And the water is how to influence the Great Wall. Secondly, atthe space of the order, this paper takes Ming Great Wall as research subject. The study isabout the relationship of Ming Great Wall of the line selection, layout, architectural form andconstruction method and water. Ming Great Wall across Yellow River valley, the Haihe Rivervalley, Liaohe river valley, the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea. The second part analysis therelationship of Ming Great Wall and water all-sided.Finally, by the study on the relationship of the Great Wall and water, it is helpful to theprotection of the Great Wall that we can fully understand the influence of the watersurrounding the Great Wall. We hope our work could promote the sustainable development ofthe Great Wall conservation and the protection of the geographical environment surroundingthe Great Wall.
