With the extensively used of fieldbus technology, the intelligent breaker has realized network monitoring and automation control. However, as the rapidly development of real-time Ethernet technology, the automation technology gradually changed from the fieldbus to the real-time Ethernet technology. In order to improve the existing intelligent breaker which is based on fieldbus technology, this paper proposed a kind of new intelligent break communication module based on the PROFINET IO industrial real-time Ethernet technology.Firstly, by analyzing the research and development trend in the domestic and overseas of low-voltage intelligent circuit-breaker and real-time Ethernet technology, and according to prime development direction of the next generation intelligent circuit-breaker, an implementation of communicative intelligent circuit-breaker based on PROFINET IO protocol is given. And described in detail the advantages of intelligent breaker implemented real-time Ethernet technology in the application of power supply system protection.Secondly, according to the basic technology of the project implementation, this paper analyzed in depth the structure of PROFINET protocol, the mechanism of real-time communication, and the precise time synchronization protocol used in PROFINET. Studied the structure and characteristics of the configurable real-time eCos operating system. Researched the implementation of the configurable mechanism.Thirdly, according to the basic functional and performance requirements of the communicative intelligent breaker and referring to the relevant industry standards, the paper described the overall hardware design plan and the implementation of the PROFINET communication module including Ethernet communication interface, rs485communication interface and power supply module. And described in detail the princi-ple of module circuit design, and given the hardware module circuit schematic.Fourthly, combined with the design of hardware, this paper given the general software design ideas and the realization mechanism, expounded the implementation principle and method of eCos network driver, PROFINET protocol stack and the protocol conversion of the breaker, given the flow chart of program as well as part of the codes realizationFinally, a testing platform was settled up according to the existing technical condition and equipment. Performances and communication tests have been done to the prototype combined with the PC monitoring software and the intelligent breaker. The relevant test data obtained from the test were analyzed. The test results showed that the system is stable and reliable, reached the expecting requirement of intelligent breaker networking control.
