Intellectualized and networked are the goals of development of the distribution network , the low-voltage electrical appliances which are intelligent and have the network communication capacity are the basic units to achieve the goals, and the low-voltage circuit breaker just is one of the basic units. On the basis of analyzing the defects and deficiencies of the traditional breaker, this thesis designed and developed an intelligent circuit breaker EtherNet/IP communication module.(1)By analyzing the research status and the trend of development about the communication-capable low-voltage electrical appliances, this thesis pointed out the limitations of the traditional circuit breaker, expounded the application advantage of the intelligent circuit breakers which are on the basis of industrial ethernet in the distribution protection system.(2)According to the requirements of EtherNet/IP specification and the functional and performance requirements of the communication module desired by the application, this thesis suggested the general planning of the intelligent circuit breaker communication module on the basis of EtherNet/IP, and introduced the implementation of the hardware modules of the communication module.(3)Combined with the hardware, this thesis gave out the method to build the communication module software platform, including the configuration and porting of system boot process, the embedded operating system and file system, designed and implemented the underlying drivers of the communication module . According to the EtherNet/IP specification and requirements of this project, this thesis intruduced the design and implementation of the EtherNet/IP software stack and application program, enlarged on the implementation mechanism of the software stack and the functions achieved by the application progarm, and gave out the software design process and the source code.(4)According to the application requirements, this thesis gave out the functional test platform, and the results of the test for the realization of remote control, remote telecommunication, remote adjustment and remote telemetry. According to EtherNet/IP conformance test specifications, this thesis introduced the protocol conformance test platform, and the contents and requirements of conformance test, gave out the conformance test process, the configuration file , and the results of the comformance test. One of the problems encountered during the conformance test was analyzed as an examle.The results of final test and working show that the intelligent circuit breakers EtherNet/IP communication module designed in this thesis met the protocol conformance requirements of the EtherNet/IP specification, and achieved the requirements about functionality and performance of the project application submitted to the communication module.
