A Study On Lu Yujun And Chinese Early-modern City Planning

This paper extends from the project and trys to study early-modern city planning from the perspective of character history, Calling for the strengthening of the concerns of academic character in the city planning. According using a lot of historical data and documentation, it detailed introducts and evaluates Lu Yujun’s planning process, with an acceptance and transformation of city planning theories in the West, as well as the wartime system of city planning system. At last, it concludes Lu Yujun’s contribution to early-modern city planning in China, specifically referring to Lu Yujun’s contribution to city planning theories, disciplines, systems, engineering and technical.The article consists of six chapters and is mainly divided into three parts. The first part introduces Lu Yujun’s city planning career, including Lu Yujun’s educational background in Paris, designing buildings of Nanjing Examination Yuan after returning from Paris, in wartime dedicated to air defense planning in Chongqing, and in1949moving to Taiwan to join in the architecture and city planning education comb,which is conducive to the all-round understanding of Lu Yujun throughout the life course and character. The second part is the main part of the article. Based on Lu Yujun’s important practice in the field of city planning after returning from the West, such as comments on the book-"City of Tomorrow" translated by Lu Yujun, the "new era of Urban Planning" wrote by him, pointing out that he contributes to the spread of Western city planning and use Western city planning theory to ajust to our country in the wartime regime, which is Lu Yujun’s content changes in city planning. It is Lu Yujun’s city planning theory development and evolution of an important stage, revealing the formation of Lu Yujun’s city planning theory processes and characteristics. The third part is the refining of the earlier paper summarizes, through a comprehensive understanding of the city planning system in Lu Yujun, Lu Yujun contribution, reflecting modern city planning in China Lu Yujun first thoughts on the issues of city planning in China.The article considers Lu Yujun as a research subject, combined with the corresponding social, economic and cultural background, and does detailed interpretation and evaluation of his books or papers, mining conduction due to its course of development and evolution of city planning. Designed to expand the scope of the study of city planning figure by Lu Yujun and early-modern Chinese city planning, and improve personal study of Lu Yujun, to deepen the understanding of the development in China’s city planning, and angle of the Chinese city planning research of modern Chinese the construction of city planning and future development to provide a reference and inspiration, while making the research more practical significance.
