With the advancement of urbanization quickening, the urban traffic is bearing increasingly heavy pressure and heavy traffic congestion, fuel consumption and pollution discharge have hampered urban economic development. To disperse and control the heavy traffic flow at intersections is an important solution to the foregoing traffic problems. Yet traditional intersection signal control has increasingly fallen behind the complex traffic demand, and much of the intelligent signal control has yet to be put into practice. Therefore the forsighted real-timing traffic guiding system has become a key field in Intelligent Transportation.This paper analyzes the development status of domestic and internation road intersection control and guidance systems in domestic and international road.Taking traffic flow of single intersections as research subject, it proposes the receive-end installed on vehicles as service object,allowing vehicles to pass through intersections without stopping, according to guiding information sent to them.The designed system with the vehicle receiving terminal constitutes a complete intersection platform of real-time.Comprising mainly of the three components-information acquisition, information processing and wireless information trassmission.The information used in the system include intersection signal light real-time control information and traffic flow information which is collected using ground loop on a real-time basis. Based on detailed analysis of coil detecting technology, the vehicle checking module connecting the coil and main controller is designed. In terms of information processing, this article proposes an algorithm based on the vehicle-queue concentration and dissipation model to come up with the guiding speed according to a projected vehicle-queue dissipation time. The system uses GPRS wireless data transmission technololy and its hardware circuit is designed. Finally this paper builds the software platform of the system using EOS WinCE5.0and the functionality of the system proposed is realized through programming.The system formulated in this paper has proven useful for improving traffic congestion at urban road intersections and enhancing traffic efficiency as well as reducing fuel consumption and emission of harmful gases. |
