This paper makes a deep investigation of the management systems and theenvironmental education modes of the U.S. national parks and Chinese scenic spots. Byanalysing and contrasting the illustrative cases, it finds the characteristics of the two systemsand modes, and the differences between them. Based on the institution operation of themanagement, American administrators of national parks have been taking several measures toenhance the environmental education, and have reached many successful experiences. Takingan example of environment educational activity from China forest parks, it’s not difficult toobserve the reasons why our scenic spots go short of a systematic environmental educationmode, as well as the inner and outer factors that hold back the construction of the mode.Through the research, the paper discusses how to set up a standard environmental educationmode in Chinese scenic spots by using American ’s good methods and experience. The mainresearches and achievements are as follows:A. Standing on the point of national environmental education, not only America butChina have adopted measures to improve people’s moral level of environmental protection. Ithas great advantages to take activities by making the best use of the beautiful naturalenvironment and abundant natural resources.B. Both the U.S. national parks and Chinese scenic spots have their own institutions oflaw, internal offices, principles of planning and designing, financial sources, human resourcesetc., all of which constitute their management systems. By showing some practice of the twocountries’ education, it’s easy to conclude that the implement of environmental educationmode, on one hand, depends on the whole system, on the other hand, needs many aspects ofinputs such as infrastructure, money and human resource etc..C. The paper summarizes the main problems in the management system of China’sscenic spots by the way of comparing the same aspects with American. Then it suggests that ifwe want to build up a standard environmental education mode, Firstly we need to establish alogical management system, then we have to offer all kinds of conditions that the mode needs in the detail.D. Based on the real situation of China, the paper proposes that we do have to Start withimproving the quality of guide services, and setting up a scientific system of guide service tointensify the educational function of scenic spots; From the other side do our best to promotethe ecotourism. Programs and activities of ecotourism should not only be publicized andadvertised, but be put into practice in deep.E. Via the successful experience of environmental education mode from the U.S. nationalparks, it is necessary to suggest administrators with setting up a standard operation system ofenvironmental education in Chinese scenic spots.
