The quality and reliability of the large power transformers, which is themost important equipment in power grid, are the key factor relates to thesafe operation of power grid. The factory performance test for powertransformers is necessary for the quality and the reliability of the powertransformer. However, the factory performance test for the powertransformers in domestic mainly used the method of manual operation andreading. Although there have some PC-based auto-test systems in recentyears, the backward equipments and less test items render poor auto-testsystem. Hence, in order to satisfy the requirement of the power transformerperformance test system, it has realistic meaning to develop a system withhigh precision, automation, and low cost.In this thesis, an overall scheme of a more automatic test system byusing virtual instrument and industrial computer is presented. The proposedsystem can both automatically and manually perform the test items, such asthe measurement of three-phase voltage, three-phase current, active power,reactive power, power factor, frequency and the temperature of surface oiland so on.The overall hardware scheme and the basic theory of the transformerperformance test system are presented first in this thesis. In accordance withthe requirement of system, we choose appropriate hardware equipments,which includes industrial computer, data-acquisition and control card, andtemperature measurement module, to realize the various test items, such as,load and zero-load tests, direct current resistance test, and temperature risingtest. Then the methods for the measurement of electrical parameters arepresented, on the base of which, the software of the test system is designedby using LabVIEW. The multiple sub-programs, such as, pre-manipulationsof the test data, and the measurement modules of the electrical parameters, are detailed. Finally, the overall of the system software and the user’sinterface are demonstrated.
