In the process of manufacturing power transformer, transformer test is an important means of checking transformers'quality. It can improve product quality and data management through the transformer test. However, the level of the domestic power transformer test automation is very low, some manufacturers, or even manually, the production efficiency is not high. In order to adapt to modern production, it is necessary to develop a set of transformer automatic testing and controlling system that has a high precision and automation. There is the important meaning to improve product quality, product management and production efficiency, to reduce the testing time and labor-intensity.This paper focuses on developing WINDOWS platform for testing and controlling of power transformer, and does researchers on direct resistance test, variable ratio test, no-load test, load test, sensor test, harmonic analysis test, temperature rise test of power transformer. The paper describes the transformers basic composition of computer control system and each unit's working process, based on VB6.0 software to develop transformer testing and controlling platform, through the USB interface and COM interface technology to achieve high-speed data acquisition, test equipment control, instrumentation management, combined with ACCESS database and EXCEL tables to achieve data storage and the output and print of test data forms, While transformer test data collection methods, algorithms, code, the basic parameters and communication protocols of test and control equipment, unit test module interface and program flow chart, transformer test control interface and management interface program flow chart expounded.When the testing and controlling system is applied in the transformer testing, the level of transformer testing automation and precision will be greatly enhanced. Some testing with real-time waveform is convenient to observation and database management and printing reports is easy to operate. In that case, it achieves intelligent and automatic control of the transformer test.
