Rotating machinery plays a vital role in all aspects of the social production, therehas important practical significance and economic value to establish for all types ofrotating machinery fault-prone monitoring and diagnostics of normalization. With thedevelopment of embedded technology, portable devices have been widely used in allaspects of social life. Based on the analysis of rotating machinery fault diagnosistechnology application at home and abroad, for the operating status monitoring ofsmall and medium machinery in enterprise, design and development a set of portablerotating machinery fault diagnosis apparatus based on embedded system has beenproposed in this paper.This paper has completed the overall design of hardware and software to faultdiagnosis apparatus by the analysis of system requirements. ARM920T processor isselected as a hardware core to this system. The design and development of the systemhardware platform include data acquisition, data storage, display operation and powermanagement module. In the process of software system design and development, thesoftware application platform is built by completing the configuration, compile andtransplantation of BootLoader, Linux kernel and embedded Linux root file system.And then the driver of ADS8363A/D converter chip in data acquisition module isdeveloped to the platform.After completion of the work ahead, this paper focuses on the design anddevelopment of the application software running on the software platform. The faultdiagnosis system application software is developed by the Qt application developmenttools which have excellent cross-platform application performance. Those tools caneasily achieve works of codes edit and interfaces design in Windows System, and thencomplete the cross-compile and transplant in the Linux System. The codes edit of this system program design is completed by dividing the system into four modules whichare human-computer interaction interface, read and storage of data collected, signalprocessing and feature extraction and fault identification using KFDA. This system isachieved the basic functions which are given in the beginning of this paper. At last,this system is achieved transplanting and running in the development board which hasthe same ARM920T processor core. And then, this system has been verified byanalyzing the fault data of rotor test platform.
