The model9500B Oscilloscope Calibrator is mainly used for oscilloscope calibration as metrological standard equipment. In order to maintain its accuracy,9500B provides the adjustment which can calibrate the various output signals back to the technical specifications, but there are too many adjustment points, and the adjustment operation is complicated, so that the manual adjustment process seems so time-consuming and fallible. In view of this situation, This article describes an automatically adjustment system which is designed by LabVIEW and make use of IEEE488bus to connect equipment and industrial personal computer, it can automatic collection, transmission, analysis and processing the9500B oscilloscope calibrator output signal. The system can automatically find the address of the instrument, real-time display the acquisition data, real-time judge the results, automatically adjust the9500B, estimate remaining time, real-time message instrument status, etc. The system make full use of the various functions in LabVIEW, it have intelligent features that can automatically clear the instrument errors generated during the operation and can automatically decide whether to continue to run according to the instrument’s status, etc. In addition, the automatically adjustment system take advantage of interaction design which can allow operators to quickly master the system, without read the instructions beforehand. The experiment proved that the system has user-friendly interface, easy to use, is very efficient, and the adjustment is effective, it solve the problem of manual adjustment that seems time-consuming and fallible, have strong practical. This paper contains six chapters. The first chapter is an overview part, at first, it introduces design reasons and research significance of the model9500B oscilloscope calibrator automatic adjustment system, and then summarizes the future development trend of the measurement and control technology and the virtual instrument technology in the domestic and international, then brief introduces IEEE488standard, LabVIEW,9500B’s characteristics and main SCPI commands. The second chapter is an overall structure design part of the system, it first introduces hardware structure of the model9500B oscilloscope calibrator automatic adjustment system, and then mainly carries on demand analysis to the system’s software, gives use case diagram, and use case description, then proposes an overall structure design of the system and the specific functional requirement according to the software demand analysis. The third chapter is a functional modules design part of the system, as the overall structure design part divides the system into five modules, the third chapter describes the specific design of each module according to the specific functional requirement, details the programming algorithm of each functional module, and gives the flow chart of each module. The fourth chapter is a realizing technology part of the system, this part introduces the main technologies which are used in the system, such as interactive design, multithreading, query of status word, it analyses superiority of these technologies, gives some examples which use these technologies and gives specific programming algorithm of them in detail. The fifth chapter is an experimental results and analysis part of the system, this part tests and verifies the system according to the specific functional requirement in the third chapter, shows screenshots of the system’s software during test, and gives experimental conclusion. The sixth chapter is a summary part of the system, this part summarize the functions, effects and design advantages of the system.
