Structural vibration control technology a positive and effectivestrategy to reduce the damage of structures by the wind and earthquake.TMD/ATMD is gradually applied in civil engineering building structures fortheir effective structure vibration control approach. From the angles of thedisplacement、 acceleration、 input energy and instantaneous energyrespectively, this paper investigates and compares the control effectivenessof TMDs which have different parameters through the stochastic seismicresponse spectra and artificial seismic response spectra. Through thetransformation function of structures,this paper studies on the influence ofeccentricity ratios on eccentric structure vibration responses and TMD’scontrol effect. Using three control strategies on eccentric structure modelsfor controlling seismic and wind vibrations of models.There are six-dimensional grounds in a realistic earthquake. They arethree translational components、one torsional component and two swayablecomponents, respectively. Engineers are only considering translationalearthquake waves when calculate the seismic response of the structures anddesigning structural vibration control technology for lack of torsional andswayable components. But the torsional component of a realistic earthquakeaffects the seismic response of structures and the control effect throughCoriolis acceleration (Coriolis acceleration coupling in the vibrationequation). Under the elastic wave theory hypothesis, making use of threetranslational components gets the torsional earthquake. Throughinvestigating and comparing the results of2DOF of one mass point of the dual directional symmetry structure and the control effect of TMD/ATMDsystem under unidirectional and dual translational earthquake input,inconsidering and neglecting the different intensity of the torsionalearthquake, understanding Coriolis acceleration coupling affects thestructural response and TMD/ATMD’s control effect.
