Study On The Location Of Shandong Coastal Yacht Marina Sites

The yacht is a kind of advanced consumer durables, which is used for water recreation. Itcombines sailing, sports, entertainment, leisure and other functions into one, to meet individuals andfamilies to enjoy living needs. With the rapid development of Chinese economy, improvement ofpeople’s consumption level and the transition in the ways of people’s leisure entertainment, yachtsports gradually rises as a new recreational sport in China, and nowadays people pay an increasingattention on the selection of the locations of yacht docks which is taken as a compulsory phase of thedevelopment of yacht industry.Shandong is an important part of Bohai Sea economic zone. In recent years, the yachtingindustry has a good momentum of development, which makes the lack of infrastructure constructioncome to light. Since there is an urgent need for the construction of marina along Shandong coast, thispaper takes a study on the location selection of the marina. First, combined with the status andcharacteristics of domestic and international yacht marina and related industries, this paper makes aSWOT analysis of the Shandong coastal construction conditions and the development of the yachtingindustry. Second, according to the factors which have been taken into consideration in theconstruction of marinas of Shandong coastal sites, the evaluation system for the location of marinashas been established, which is suitable for the practical situation of the coastal cites in China. Byreferring to the mathematical method which is usually used to evaluate the location selection ofmarinas and factors which need to be considered in the construction of marinas, the fuzzycomprehensive evaluation method is employed to establish the evaluation model. Finally, based onthe analytic hierarchy process and the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, the paper hasevaluated several alternative locations of marinas along Shandong coast by transforming the issue oflocations selection from qualitative analysis to qualitative calculation. The synthetical score andranking of those alternative locations are obtained by combining the questionnaire survey and thecalculation results drawn from the MATLAB. Through the evaluation of the alternative locations of marinas, the place in rich resources has arelatively mature conditions can have a priority in constructing marinas in the relatively limitedresources. Then it can gradually extend to other coastal marina to provide a scientific basis fordecision-making relevant departments.
