Water tank is one of the most important unique constructions; it can be seen in ourordinary life and research. In Civil Engineering, water tank is applied to water treatment plant,sewage treatment plant, clear water reservoirs for two-stage high pressurized water supply andimpounding reservoir in some arid regions. In a word, water tank has a close relationship withour daily life; it is a multipurpose unique construction.Water tank also plays an important role in the area of scientific research. Tankexperiment is applied to research the respond to architectures of the wave and proving theengineering design plans of architectures in the ocean and port engineering. Besides, theresearch of sea-keeping trials, underwater robot and dynamic positioning technology alsodepends on tank experiment. And water tank is a vital test site of the experiment.The background of this paper is a scientific and technological project of HarbinEngineering University. By virtue of finite element theory, the responses under static load,seismic load and impact load are analyzed. In this paper, the basin is analyzed in the followingrespects: stress and displacement under static load, model analysis of the structure, thespectrum analysis under seismic excitation, time history analysis under impact load. All theanalysis work provides data for the following design of the basin.
