Transformer is an important electrical equipment in electric power system, which is costly, complex in structure and distributed in wide fields. It assumes the heavy responsibility of power transmission and voltage conversion whose safe operation affects the stability and security of the entire power system directly. Tank is one of the most important components. Practice shows that, in the course of transformers,30 percent of the malfunctions are due to the unreasonable design of tank. The issue in this essay models, simulates, analyzes and tests oil-immersed transformer tank. Then compare the results of theoretical analysis with results of the practice to find out shortages in design of transformer tank. The main work includes the following:At fist, summarize the current status of the analysis for the power transformer, collect the different simulation method for the force-analysis of the power transformer, and verify the importance to analyze the tank-deforming of the power transformer.Secondly, model and simulate the tank and its components with the application of Pro/E software design parameters according to2D CAD drawings of the transformer tank and schedules in PDF format.Thirdly, using the finite element analysis method, I will transform the established entity model under ANSYS finite element analysis software, then carry on finite element analysis towards the transformer tank.In the last part, compare the simulation results with the test. Refer to our own design and vacuum-test in our workshop, we found that this simulation model can help us to find the non-uniform area of the transformer tank and help our designers to modify their design before the pre-production.
