| Traditional markets which is a kind of urban retail formats is an important part of the business of the city, and closely related to the daily life of urban residents. However, d ue to its drawbacks, traditional market is facing the fate of being eliminated. Firstly, th is paper contrasted the origin and development of traditional domestic and foreign ma rkets, used field research and survey research methods, took six traditional vegetable markets in Hefei as case study, and summarized the role of traditional markets and the contradictions and problems between traditional markets and urban development in u rban development. Secondly, in order to solve these problems and to explore the relati onship between traditional markets and city space, this thesis combined the foreign ur ban regeneration theory, introduced the concept of the "urban catalyst" of urban renais sance strategy, and put forward use traditional markets as a catalyst. Finally, this essay integrated urban catalyst theory and the success stories of foreign experience as well as the problems presented in Hefei central traditional market, proposed transforming f easibility suggestions of central traditional market and regarded it as a catalyst to driv e the development and rehabilitation of Hefei. |
