The Research Of Railway Container Business Process Optimization

China railway container transportation industry started early, but far behind thedevelopment of China’s economic and other container transportation area. The rootcause that restricting its development is internal management measures is seriously outof line with the external market. To solve this problem, means to optimize businessprocesses is a must-have step to establish a new market-oriented mechanism. China is inthe development of intermodal transport and rail operations critical period of reform, soit is absolutely necessary to analyze the railway container freight business process, findthe key point, and propose appropriate optimization.In this paper, with application of “radar-graph” practical method, factors thataffecting the performance of railway container are systematical analyzed. From thisstarting point, a performance evaluation system is constructed and to depict itself, aradar graph with comparative analysis of other modes of transport containers, isfounded. This method points out the strengths and weaknesses in current developmentof railway container system. Beyond this, analysis of the existing rail container transportbusiness processes is made, and relations, consequences of detailed performanceindicators and business process are discussed too. On above basis, the whole businessprocess can be optimized from three aspects:(1) improve the container managementinformation systems, container tracking information to establish a complete chain(network) and market information network, a compete e-commerce platform to providequality service, quick collecting and summarization of all regional data for statisticalanalysis, therefore fulfilling process optimization to achieve operational goal;(2)enhance the container transport management control and execution under currentrailway system, and find a practical way to control the assets and strengthen theinfluence of different types of railway stations. Make line management more equalityand easy to cooperate, in order to conduct next business process optimization;(3) adjustor redesign key operating procedures in the whole business process, as well assupporting regulations, detailed operational rules to achieve the goal.To measure the specific implementation of above three methods, the researcheruses benchmarking method and makes shipping industry as a comparison on how toachieve the goal of business process optimization on railway container transportation. In the end, actual case in China Railway Container Transport Co., Ltd. Guangzhou Branchis discussed to explore the feasibility of optimization.
