Toll station is one of the ancillary facilities of the express way. It is of greatsignificance to the maintenance of expressway operation and management. It is also themain channel of express way to raise operating funds conserve capital loan repayments.Reasonable toll station design could raise the traffic capacity, but also could decrease thecapital input, reduce the waste of resources, provide comfort environment for users andmanagers. To find out the most suitable toll station designing mode in China, t By the wayof sufficient investigation and analysis,the paper choose the suitable queuing mode toanalysis the capacity of weight-caculating-tolls passage way, and comparedweight-caculating-tolls passageway with the MTC tolls passageway. It put forward a newway to track with the truck need to reweigh. To avoid the influence of the maximum chargetime’s truck in the tandem-arrangement toll-booths passageway on the other trucks, thispaper built the numerical simulation model of the tandem-arrangement toll-boothspassageway, proposed the relation model between the toll booth number and the capacity.Based on the cost analysis of vehicle queue and toll station, puts forward a number modelfor opening lanes is established which objective function is at the least total cost, determinesthe best number of opening lanes. T his paper put forward the relationship between thenumber of ETC toll-booths and the traffic capacity, provides theoretical basis for effectivemanagement of toll station. This paper evaluates the models by using the software calledMATLAB, C++, PARAMICS, improves the traditional calculation method. The result ofthe research is important both in theory and practice.
